Improve your family's respiratory health with Halotherapy (Salt Room) (Yes, kids can come too!)
MIMONE
This is Your Ultimate Guide to the new Halotherapy (Salt Therapy) in MIMONE Spa.
What is Halotherapy (Salt Therapy)?
Halotherapy, also known as salt therapy, is a natural therapy that involves breathing in tiny salt particles. Derived from the Greek word "halos," meaning salt, Halotherapy mimics the microclimate of salt caves to promote respiratory health, skin rejuvenation, and overall wellness.
How Does Halotherapy (Salt Therapy) Work?
During a Halotherapy session, you may relax in a specially designed salt room while pharmaceutical-grade salt is dispersed into the air by a halogenerator. As you breathe in the salt-infused air, it travels through your respiratory system, cleansing the airways and promoting better breathing.
The salt particles also have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, benefiting skin conditions like acne and eczema.
What Are the Benefits of Halotherapy (Salt Therapy)?
Halotherapy offers a plethora of benefits for both respiratory and skin health. Some of the key advantages include:
- Respiratory Relief: Halotherapy can alleviate symptoms associated with allergies and other respiratory conditions by reducing inflammation, opening airways, and loosening congestion.
- Skin Rejuvenation: The antimicrobial properties of salt can help combat bacteria, fungi, and other microbes on the skin, promoting clearer, healthier skin and relieving symptoms of various skin conditions.
- Stress Reduction: Salt therapy sessions provide a tranquil environment conducive to relaxation and stress relief, helping to calm the mind and promote overall well-being.
- Improved Sleep: Many clients report better sleep quality following Halotherapy sessions, attributed to the relaxation effects and respiratory improvements.
Is Halotherapy (Salt Therapy) Safe for Kids?
Absolutely! Halotherapy is a non-invasive, drug-free therapy with minimal side effects. It's suitable for people of all ages, including children and seniors. However, individuals with severe respiratory conditions, infectious diseases, or open wounds should consult with a healthcare professional before starting Halotherapy. This will improve the immunity of your child especially with the never-ending flu season Kuala Lumpur.
What Can My Child Do During Halotherapy (Salt Therapy)?
We are a child-friendly spa. There are some simple beach toys in the salt room as the floor is covered with salt, mimicking the sand at the beach. It helps to distract your child and keep them occupied during the session. If your child is an infant that is not able to sit yet, please bring a changing mat or something for your child to lay on as it is not advisable for your child to lay tummy-side down in the room. This is to avoid your child accidentally falling face down into the sand and getting a mouthful of salt as his/her neck support is not strong yet. Our spa is also child-friendly.
What Can I Expect During a Halotherapy (Salt Therapy) Session?
Our Halotherapy session typically lasts between 30 to 45 minutes. You'll relax in our salt room, breathe deeply, and unwind as the salt does its magic. Our chairs can be reclined so please ask our staff to assist you if you are unsure how to do it. Feel free to meditate, read, or simply enjoy the serene atmosphere. Many customers experience a sense of calm and clarity during and after the session, along with improved breathing and skin hydration. Please note that you will notice a small trace of salt on your lips after the session.
What To Wear In The Salt Room?
Loose clothing is optimal so you can relax. We have prepared socks for you to wear in the room and also hair net to prevent fine salt from getting stuck and tangled in your hair. For children, we request that they come in clean clothing. For long hair customers, please tie up into a ponytail or buns. Hair tie elastic bands and hair net will be provided in our spa.
